TOMORROW! TOMORROW! Sarah shouted as the lead of Annie with more volume than seemingly possible for only a small girl of 9. Other plays, musicals and school choir would further inspire her passion for music and productions. She could hardly wait till “tomorrow’ when just maybe, the stage would be grander. She would finally leave the small town life of Helena Montana, a nice little town, sure enough, but not a place for an ambitious girl to waste too much time. It didn’t take a second thought when at the age of 16 the opportunity came to tuck herself into the only space available in a crowded moving truck to San Diego California where she would complete high-school, fashion school and mature into adulthood, and then off she went to see the world. She traveled to Las Vegas, The Caribbean, Bahamas, Miami, New York, Paris, London, Cabo San Lucas; and finally settling down in the scenic Niagara Region of Ontario, Canada, (but still splitting each year between there and Southern California), where she finally could resume her musical destiny. It had been some time since Sarah had seen the stage or been a part of a creative musical process but in 2006 a growing need to reconnect with this aspect of her personality propelled her into composing a selection of lyrics and melodies. In collaboration with Rick Rose, (known as the “Hardest working musician in Canada”), and Michael Saricino, (a gifted, multi-talented, young producer), along with partner and musical editor Ethan Rising, Sarah would complete her debut album entitled “Love Storm” released July, 2008. The Album: While in the Niagara region of Canada during the Summer of 2006, Sarah met with the experienced and talented songwriter Rick Rose, who has had numerous commercial releases and was a staff writer for Sony ATV in Nashville for many years. She brought him her ideas with hopes of forming them into complete songs. Rick then called in Michael Saracino, a gifted and multi-talented young producer and songwriter. Together the three of them put together a solid three-song demo and recorded it within a few weeks that Fall. Now back in Southern California for the Winter, Sarah was playing her music for whomever she could, taking compliments and criticisms in stride and quickly realizing that a lot of people seemed to believe she had something. She then penned a number of lyrics taken from her life experience and returned to Niagara Falls in 2007 to record a full length album release. She collaborated once again with Rick Rose who took the role of executive producer and co-writer. Rick and Sarah discussed the scope of the release and decided to go with a full production package including an album, music video and state-of-the-art website. They again turned to Michael Saracino to assist Sarah with the writing process and to produce and engineer the release. Rick recommended another local young talent, Ethan Rising, who took on many roles including music video director and mastering engineer. Photography and artwork was produced by Grace Jolicquer whose artistic vision in combination with technical ability was integral to the project. Dave Rotella and his company DANIMA was enlisted to develop a first-rate web site. |
